La Torre is located in the beautiful region of Murcia in Spain. This area of Spain is one of the less known British tourists destinations and therefore maintains its Spanish Character. Mar Menor, is a lagoon 20 minutes from La Torre, which is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a sand bar 22km in length. This warm and clear water which does not exceed 7m in depth, is "the largest swimming pool in the world" according to the opinions of the famous swimmer and Hollywood actress Esther Williams. Its relatively high salinity, which aids floatation, and remarkable sporting infrastructures make this one of the most popular places in Europe for the practice and training of all kinds of water sports.

The city of Murcia is about 30 mins away and is dominated by the 14th Century Cathedral. Extensive shopping is available in this University city.

The walled town of Cartagena is about 45 mins away from La Torre. Thanks to its strategic position on the Mediterranean, Cartagena has been inhabited by many different cultures which have left their mark on its rich cultural heritage during a glorious and turbulent history
